Shamik is a beatboxer, producer, and sound artist based in Chicago.

He has performed in 15 countries, and showcased at various festivals including Colours of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Southbound, Sub Sonic (Australia), Sunburn, Mood Indigo (India), Dubplate (Philippines), Electric Forest, MOXSonic (USA), and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics (Canada).

He toured with Method Man & Redman, Tanya Tagaq, DJ Q-Bert, and DJ Kentaro. He has opened for Flying Lotus, George Benson, Dam Funk, Kool Herc, The Glitch Mob, and Excision. He has shared the stage with fellow beatboxers Killa Kela, Dub Fx, and Felix Zenger. Shamik performed on Ruby Singh’s Vox.Infold album which received a 2023 Juno Award nomination for Best Global Music Album of the Year.

Shamik’s South Asian electronic productions and Channeling India beat series have been featured on Rolling Stone India, VH1 India, BBC Asian Network, and Chani Nicholas’ astrology playlists. He is the founder of Sensing Waves, a record label which focuses on deep, ambient, and leftfield music. In the past 8 years he has curated 21 releases, and he hosts the Sensing Airwaves podcast.
